Department of Pharmacy

About the Department

The department of pharmacy was established in 2015 as a unit under the college of health sciences. With 50 students enrolled in the first year, a nationally harmonized pharmacy curriculum was adopted with the intention of producing qualified pharmacists for the pharmaceutical industries. Currently, the department is offering courses to 185 students in different year of study in the regular undergraduate program and 111 students in the post-basic program. Since its establishment, the department has graduated 133 students.

The pharmacy department has four categories of course teams; namely clinical pharmacy, pharmacology, social and administrative pharmacy, pharmaceutics, and pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacognosy. A laboratory service is now being established for courses in pharmaceutics, pharmacology, pharmaceutical analysis, and pharmacognosy.
